TFA holds milestone conferences
The Teaching-Family Association (TFA) held its 30th annual conference November 14-17 in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1975, TFA’s mission is “to ensure the quality of care provided by professionals who actively pursue the goals of humane, effective, individualized treatment for children, families, and dependent adults.” Treatment is based on what is known as the Teaching-Family Model. Today TFA includes over 50 member and supporting agencies, which serve in a variety of programs including home-based treatment, treatment foster care and group homes.
As part of the November conference, Advancement Associates Principal Becky Drumm presented a workshop titled “The Board/Staff Partnership in Advancement” in which she defined the roles of the CEO, the chief advancement officer, and the board. Discussion topics included the four basic fundraising program elements (annual fund, special events, major gifts, planned gifts) and the specific roles of staff and board within these programs.
